A living village

The residents of Uley care about keeping the spirit of the village alive. Our local events and village groups are evidence of a wide variety of interests and passions and all ages are catered for. Uley Society is a popular group dedicated to “promoting and co-ordinating activities for the maintenance and enrichment of life in Uley with Owlpen, and supporting the Parish Council in its efforts to preserve the environment”.

The Parish Council itself manages the infrastructure of our village and liaises with all groups, Stroud Council, Gloucestershire County Council and other governmental and regulatory bodies.

This is also a village of professional, business, creative and artisan skills, home to entrepreneurs, sports enthusiasts and musicians. In our local business directory you will find painters & decorators, massage therapists, chimney sweeps and firewood suppliers, HR consultants, architects and marketing & PR services.

St Giles and Owlpen churches are anchors for the village, with strong links to our primary school, and church services and events are well-attended, community gatherings.

Uley is a harmonious place where children are safe and the elderly are looked out for. Whether you live here or you are visiting you will always see a friendly face and find a warm welcome.
